Movie Maker - How to Add Titles

It’s easy to add titles with Movie Maker. Your very first movie deserves a special type of titles: Rolling Credits with your name.

Watch the video to see how that’s done.

Notes &Tips

A title can take up the whole screen or it can be overlayed on your video or picture.

If you do a title overlap, it appears in the Title Overlay track on your timeline. You can slide title overlays left and right to make it pop up at the precise moment.

You can also trim and extend title overlays to control how long they stay on the screen.
There are many title animations, my favorites are: Basic Title, Subtitle, News Video Inset, News Banner and Newspaper. That last one is really cool, you must check it out.

Homework

  • Open your Movie Maker project if it’s not open yet.
  • Add a title screen at the beginning of your movie.
  • Add Credits at the end of the movie.
  • Click on a picture clip in the timeline and add a title right ON the clip (hint: choose Add title on selected clip)

Is there a way to move the title down to near the bottom of the image or video clip in Windows Movie Maker?
