I’m thinking of taking your course. Will a JVC GR-250 camcorder be compatible?
    Thanks, Bruce Segall

Why is there no image after recording the video from the video tape using my Panasonic Camcorder (DVC)NV G55? I used the capture program called V-stream PVR plus? The help and tutorial were really of no help to me. Would appreciate if you could help. Thanks.

I find your site on my computer!

I would like to ask you if you can delete only certain scenes in one session? (when I just started, I filmed anywhere not focusing!) where could I find the how to about it?
I’m 60, and not really good at that, I need some program easy to understad.

    Merci Aline

I am deciding between 1 ccd or 3, and understand the this improves the color. I am considering the financial trade-off for home movies to perhaps have a larger single ccd for better resolution and low light video. Thus, my question is: if I understand that it may be a good financial trade off to have a 1/3 in single ccd, where in the specs can I find the ccd size. I am getting the impression that the 1/3 in ccd is more expensive and perhaps in higher end camcorders. I have dozens of mini dv tapes I want to edit and store…home movies, and I want to stay with mini dv. Any recommendations on camcorders?
Thanks, and I just discovered this tutorial site and love it!

Hi Myrtha. I left my home movies (8mm) with you last week and will bring a hard drive for transfer when I pick up the dvds. I will be using a Mac for editing.

Wondering what size hard drive I should bring you when my job is ready?

    Thanks, Blythe Robertson

I will be transfering about 30 hi8mm tapes to an external hard drive and then do some editing and burning to DVD’s. I have looked at the pinnacle dazzle capturing device (dazzle video creator plus) as well as the new pinnacle video transfer device. The specs on the latter say it will transfer without going through a PC, copying directly to a portable storage device. It says it has MPEG-4 encoding in H.264 at up to 720×480 ntsc/pal at the “best” setting. Which device would you recommend.

    Myrtha,
Thank you for a very good and informative site about Movie Maker!

I am having trouble with collections though. When I have a video clip that I want to add to a collection, I use the task menu to import the clip, but it ALWAYS goes into a new collection–not the one I have selected. Why? This is very frustrating! I have to go to the new collection copy the clip and go to the collection I’m working with and paste the clip. Can you help me find a better way? Thanks! Erik

I plan on purchasing a DV mini-camcorder the Panasonic PV-GS320. My question is in relationship to the capture function in any video editing program. I am recording full-length volleyball games of my daughters high school team. I want a program that will take the whole tape 60 min or so, where I push start and the beginning of the game and stop at the end, with no start and stop during recording of the game,(thus no scenes to detect) and during capture by the editing software, create multiple video clips of the action that I can then use to create a highlight film. Is there such a program?

A QUESTION: Can I import a power point file with animation into movie maker? I assume I’d have to import one slide at a time.. Right?
    Thanks for your help.
