How to Connect Camcorder to PC

NOTES
If your camcorder does not support firewire, but supports USB cable, you simply plug the USB cable to the USB port of the PC instead of the firewire port of the PC. The USB port and the firewire port look like this with their unmistakable symbol:

Your Homework:

  • Locate the Firewire port on your PC or Laptop.
  • Locate the Firewire port on your Camcorder
  • If your camcorder does not come with a Firewire cable, purchase one now.
  • Buy a 4-pin to 6-pin Firewire cable if you have a desktop PC, and buy a 4-pin to 4-pin Firewire cable if you have a laptop.

I have a JVC DVL-310U camcorder and am looking for a cable to transfer the videos to PC. The port doesn’t look like its either a firewire or USB.

    Can you please help?
